Terms of service

1Purpose and scope

These terms set out the conditions for using MOKIRI (the “service”) and the rights and obligations of both users and the operator. Please review these terms before using the service. If you do not agree to them, you may choose not to use the service.

2What the service provides

The service is an image editor that runs in your web browser, with no installation and no sign-up.

• Features — Resizing, cropping, rotating and flipping, mosaic, shapes and text, and format conversion.
• Pricing — Every feature is currently free. If paid features are introduced, they will be announced in advance.
• Where processing happens — All editing runs inside your browser; your images are never transmitted to a server.

3Your responsibilities

You must hold the rights to any image you open in the service, and you are responsible for how you use the results. The following are prohibited.

• Editing or distributing images that infringe copyright, likeness rights, or other rights of others
• Manipulating images to spread false information, impersonate someone, or defame them
• Creating content prohibited by law, or interfering with the normal operation of the service

4Intellectual property

The operator does not acquire any rights to images you open or to edited results. Existing rights in those images and results remain with you or their rightful owners. Rights to the service itself — its software, design, and marks — belong to the operator or the respective rights holders.

5Changes and interruptions

The operator may improve or change the service, and may suspend it in whole or in part for technical or operational reasons. Significant changes will be announced in advance where possible; in urgent cases, notice may be given afterwards.

6Disclaimers and limits of liability

The service is provided “as is”, without warranty of fitness for a particular purpose or of uninterrupted, error-free operation. This does not affect any warranty or liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

• Work in progress — Editing data exists only in your browser, so it disappears when you close or reload the tab. You must save results yourself, and you bear losses from unsaved work where the cause is not attributable to the operator.
• Your environment — Behaviour and processing speed may vary with your browser, device performance, and image size.
• Extent of liability — To the extent permitted by applicable law, the operator is not liable for losses arising from causes not attributable to the operator. Where loss results from the operator’s intent or negligence, liability is determined under applicable law.

7Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Japan. The Japanese version is the original and prevails if it differs from a translation. However, this does not limit rights granted by mandatory laws in the user’s country of residence. If a dispute arises in connection with the service, the operator and the user will make a good-faith effort to resolve it. Failing agreement, the procedures set out in applicable law will apply.

8Contact and changes to these terms

Please direct questions about these terms to the contact below. The operator may change these terms only if the change serves the general interests of users, or if it is consistent with the purpose of the contract and reasonable in light of the necessity of the change, the appropriateness of the revised terms, and other relevant circumstances. If the terms change, the effective date, details, and reason for the change will be posted on this page before they take effect. Changes that are material or disadvantageous to users will be separately notified, or consent will be obtained where required, in the manner and within the period required by applicable law. Revised terms apply from the announced effective date, and users who do not agree may stop using the service.
